Virtual Sea: a guided ocean visualisation

Try a guided ocean visualisation to bring some soothing ‘virtual sea’ to your life today.

This 14 minute guided ocean meditation uses the power of sea sounds and some spoken guidance to relax and calm you. It gently encourages you to imagine walking a path to the sea, and spending a little time on the shore, soaking up all that the ocean offers.

Why listen to guided ocean visualisations?

Listening to the sounds of the sea can relax our nervous system, and soothe our minds. The sound of water echoes the sounds we heard in the womb. It also reawakens ancient neural pathways in our brains that encourage us to relax – neural pathways forged long ago, when we were heavily reliant on the sea and water for our food and safety.

Guided visualisations of the sea can help us to bring images of the sea more powerfully to mind, awakening all the ‘Blue Mind’ benefits of time spent in and around the water. Some people find it easier to shift into a meditative state when they are guided through a visualisation. It’s natural to be distracted as we meditate – and for some, listening to someone’s voice helps them to stay focused.
