Songs to Sing With the Sea

~ Does the ocean sing to your heart?

~ Are you seeking a deeper relationship with the waters that heal?

~ Do you yearn for the freedom and courage to awaken your own voice …especially if you believe you can’t sing?

Selkie, mermaid, whale-hearted wanderer or quiet listener – all are welcome to journey with the sea.

From full moon to summer solstice, Songs to Sing with the Sea offers a daily practice to awaken your soul song.

Songs to Sing with the Sea: 1-28 June

Whether you already love to sing – or singing feels scary and embarrassing – I invite you to join me from 1-28 June. To listen, learn and share songs from the sea.

Over this 28 days, I will bring you some of the most impactful healing songs and devotional mantras gifted to me by the Cornish sea over the past two years.

I will also offer you gentle ritual practices and intuitive prompts to explore these songs as oracle and medicine for this particular moment in your life.

Songs to Sing with the Sea is a digital offering, delivered to you with care by emailed love letter, video and sound recordings.

We connect for 28 days so that you have gentle persistent support. Time to build and embed a regular song practice, and deepen your relationship with the sea. Because when we do something consistently, we change.

IMPORTANT: You do not have to be a โ€œgoodโ€ singer to join us. You can choose not to sing at all – listening and receiving is also most welcome.

Songs to Sing with the Sea is not song as performance, perfectionism or corporate chart-topper.

This is song as medicine. Song to receive, to sing and embody.

This is song as wholeness, as hope and resonance, as honest compassion for oneself and the natural world. Song as creative ritual, as sacred offering, as vibrational healing and deep emotion processing. Song as the ocean that connects us all.

It is a space for trusting your voice. And for being heard. Heard by your body. By your heart. By the sea. By spirit. By yourself.

It is courageous. For it is vulnerable.

Songs to Sing with the Sea is sound as healing water. It is the dance of life sounding through your body.

As we sing – alone or together, with and to the sea – we contribute to a wider energetic shift. We become more present and alive. We listen differently. We build our resilience. And our capacity to take action.

I recorded this short video back in February to explain why I sing to the sea. It still rings true as we step into this new offering. And so much more has come for me to share since then…

So what will we actually do?

In Songs to Sing with the Sea, I will share six (maybe even seven…) original songs with you. These range from simple blessings or chants to longer pieces that allow you to go deeper if you choose.

I send you one or two of these each week. And you’re invited to spend a few minutes with one song every day, in whatever way feels good to you.

You might simply take time for yourself to listen to the same song every day for a month. You might try learning a new song every week. Let your intuition guide you.

I’ll also share simple rituals, prompts and practices to go deeper if you wish – meditation, journaling, movement and creative practices.

What is a daily song practice?

Your daily song practice might simply be to listen to the songs as I send them. To allow yourself to pause and receive the recordings of these songs, as you visualise the sea.

Your daily practice might involve sounding. Finding the courage to sing one or more of these songs aloud at home or elsewhere. You might take these songs to nearby water, sing them in the shower, or offer them to your home altar. You might call on them in a moment of challenge.

Do I have to sing?

No. A daily practice of deep listening and receiving song – gifting yourself time with the sea – can also be very powerful.

My personal experience is that the medicine of these songs is at its most healing when we sing them (regardless of the perceived โ€˜qualityโ€™ of any sound we make!).  But there are many ways to heal. That power lies with you.

When do we start?

We start on 1st June 2026, the day after the full moon. In these first two weeks, supported by song and the ebbing energy of the moon, we will release and clear whatever is ready to go.

As we deepen our relationship with the waters, we will also awaken the sea within. And call in hope to hold us.

On the new moon, we will sing with the selkies – and with our own soul longing. Turning our hearts to the shadow parts and hidden dreams that need tending, we will allow our intuition to guide our intentions for the next moon cycle.

As we approach the solstice, we begin to move towards these intentions – to fill the space we have created within. We will call on the sea and the elements to hold us, carrying us through the longest day of the year. Completing with a solstice ritual, and finishing on 28 June.

What will I receive when?

On 31 May / 1st June:

You receive a love letter by email on 31 May to introduce the month ahead. This includes:

  • A full moon ritual to begin your journey
  • A welcome song, sung by the sea
  • An ocean meditation to awaken your voice, and connect you to your own song beside the sea, to use any time
  • A recording of sea sounds (to sound and sing with, or simply listen)
  • My Ocean Altar PDF. A guide to setting up an ocean altar at home – if youโ€™d like to create a focused spot for your song practice.

Every week:

At the start of each week, youโ€™ll receive a new love letter by email that includes:

  • an MP3 recording of this weekโ€™s song
  • the story behind the song
  • optional additional practices including a simple ritual and journal prompts
  • glorious glimpses and sounds of the Cornish sea…

Let each song be your personal oracle for that week – what message does it have for you? What healing could it bring?

On completion:

At the end of our time together, you’ll receive a final selection of sea song goodies:

  • our Communal Sea Song (see below)
  • Songs to Sing with the Sea PDF (including all lyrics)

The sea choir

We’re going to attempt to create a communal sea song together again…

Songs to Sing with the Sea is all virtual, offered to explore in your own time and space. But you aren’t experiencing this journey alone, many others are exploring their own daily song practice alongside you. Creating a sea choir audio recording is a beautiful way to sense us all on this journey together – as if we were gathering around the sea, singing to one another.

If you would like to join in with the communal sea song – and it’s absolutely not compulsory – I’ll invite you to record yourself speaking, whispering or singing one line of a particular song as a voice note or Whatsapp message. I will then combine our voices together to form a virtual sea choir…

At the end of the month, I will play our shared sea blessing to the sea, offering thanks. And I will send you this collective ocean sound track to empower your prayers and intentions as you move forward.

The deeper I go into understanding the particular magic of a sea choir, the further I swim from harmonious perfection. This sea choir sound is not about ‘getting it right’, because our voices can’t be wrong. They are our voices, the perfect medicine for our bodies.

Just as the sea holds a magnificent diversity of sounds, so do we. And as we sing in the sea choir, we get to sense our voices rising together as nature, as vulnerable authenticity. And it’s so powerful to shift our perceptions in this way.

Energetic support and sea connection

You will be held energetically throughout our time together in June, supported by the sea and me. I’ll also be available by email for any questions or thoughts you’d like to share as you go along.

At the start of each week, I will take our featured song to the sea here in Penzance, and sing to you across the waters. I will call on the sea’s support, asking that these songs touch and guide you in whatever way is needed. I will send some distance reiki to support the group’s voice.

What songs will we learn?

We are going to learn six original mantras or songs that have been gifted to me by the sea. These are the songs that we will share and learn in this offering:

  • Myttin Da, Mor (Good Morning, Sea)
  • The Moon Shines and I Surrender
  • Glimmers of Grace
  • I Hold the Sea
  • Selkie Song
  • I Blow My Conch

We will move simply and gently, slowly building our capacity to listen, and to find our voice. You are free to move at your own pace throughout. Our journey will be spacious, allowing time for each song to arrive within your body and heart.

In this first monthโ€™s offering, we will explore these themes:

  • Song as healing
  • Song as greeting, offering or prayer
  • Song to release, cleanse and clear
  • Song to recover hope
  • Song as mythic connection
  • Song to call in guidance and support
  • Song as empowerment
  • Song as ritual

What will I leave with?

At the end of the month, youโ€™ll have learnt six new beautiful sea songs. Youโ€™ll have a collection of songs that together creates a wave of sea sound healing – to return to whenever you want.

Youโ€™ll be gently building a new relationship with your voice. And you’ll find yourself coming into conversation with the sea more often – with the waters within you, and with your own intuition. Youโ€™ll carry song offerings to share with nature wherever you go.

Youโ€™ll have sound tools to soothe your nervous system, to help you release and call in, and to connect you more deeply to yourself and to the world around you.

Just when we need that most.

How much time do I need?

That’s entirely up to you. You could spend less than an hour a week on this practice. Reading that week’s love letter, spending 5 minutes when you can listening to the song as a meditative practice or a healing. And completing the week with 15 minutes of reflection.

But if a sea song resonates – if it’s the ocean oracle or healing that you need – you might find yourself letting that song and the ocean weave their magic through your cells more often.

Listening at home, at your altar, in the bath, in the car. Singing yourself through a challenging emotion or situation. And taking yourself off to sing to a water source near you, knowing that this too will travel to the sea.

You might start to explore harmonies and rearrangements. You might go deeper with each week’s ritual and prompts. Let the sea guide you to the medicine you need.

Is this offering for me if I’m anxious about singing?

Yes, absolutely. You don’t need to sing at all if you don’t want to. You will still benefit from listening and receiving these songs, from the creative prompts and rituals, and by using each week’s song as guidance and teaching from the sea.

Clearly, I am very excited about the healing power of singing AND I also found it really difficult to sing myself, (especially in a public place!) just a couple of years ago. So I totally get that.

My gentle invitation would be to take yourself a tiny step closer to your ‘edge’ here, but not to the point where this overwhelms you (or prevents you from receiving the gifts of this offering). The very fact that I am here, offering you Songs to Sing with the Sea, is testament to the power of stepping into these edges.

It might be that your brave step this time is to speak or sing the words of one song aloud to yourself; or to record your voice and listen to it with compassion. And that’s enough.

Is this different to February’s Songs to Sing with the Sea?

In June’s Songs to Sing with the Sea, I’m sharing all new songs – this is a brand new journey into the waters. If you enjoyed February’s offering, you’ll be able to go deeper in this one, or gather some new inspiration to return to a daily song practice.

You don’t have to have participated in a previous Songs to Sing with the Sea programme to join this offering. Everyone is welcome. No skills required, just a love of the sea.

Why sing songs with the sea and me?

This offering is more of a calling than a comfort zone for me…

However, if you’ve been journeying with me for a while, you’ll know that I choose to listen deeply to where I am called.

And I tend to be called to gently step into the edges of what I think is possible.

I trust the sea. I try to trust myself. I’m not afraid to fail.

…Well, that’s not strictly true – I am afraid, but I also trust that failing will also be a gift.

And having recently discovered that songs can be gifted and heal like water, I find myself here. Called to share that healing gift with you…

Songs as water

Over time, I have learnt that these songs also move like water. As spirit moves through me. They come through the sea, and are called to flow through the recipient and onwards. Holding or transforming as they go.

These songs are not to be contained or held within, however fearful or embarrassed or inadequate I may feel about singing them in public. They are songs that wash away that unhelpful inner chatter as they pull me directly into the present. They are medicine.

As if by magic, they bring me what I need in that moment – or what I will need in the future. When I share them with others, they are received as healing. They are songs are to be shared and sung, given and received with love. Who am I to judge why and how I have received them?

And so, after much inner debate, I have finally accepted that these songs are coming to me because Iโ€™m not a professional singer. Because Iโ€™m open, and deeply feeling, and guided by love and the sea.

I’m not constricted by rules about what makes a โ€œgoodโ€ song or a โ€œgoodโ€ voice. And Iโ€™m compassionate enough that my inner child can let a song through without critically stifling it before it arrives.

The fact that my voice shakes, wobbles, has imperfections – that it has grown and continues to expand over the past two years – is exactly what you need to receive and hear to step in. A necessary reminder that we don’t need to sound like Mariah Carey to feel a song. All that matters is that the voice comes from the heart.

So I offer these songs to you because I have been asked to. Because they have been gifted to me. Because my voice and I are enough. And because these songs are medicine.

You too are enough. And your voice is healing medicine.

The story of how and when these songs arrived…

Let’s jump back to 2018. I was an over-stretched mum, mostly working in the film industry as a script editor and mentor, coaching, and running creative retreats for other mothers.

I started sea swimming.

Each morning, I would emerge from the water with a new gift: a deeper faith, a sense of my own courage, the experience of allowing myself to be held…

Returning home, I would capture those gifts or blessings in words.

When the idea of creating a set of sea blessings cards from these also arrived on the tide, I had no knowledge of how to create oracle cards. And no thought whatsoever of being an oracle card creator.

But before long, I found myself stepping into a whole new way of being, guided by the sea. This process became the much-loved Sea Soul Journeys Oracle Cards.

So there I was in 2024, with a beautiful oracle deck sold all around the world. My childhood dream of publishing an interactive book (the Sea Soul Journal) also fulfilled. Running a business built around my love for the sea and the blessings it offers. None of which I would have found if I hadn’t listened, and trusted something unexpected and new.

What does this have to do with singing?

Well… over the past two years, the sea has started to offer me gifts of song, much as they offered me blessings.

I hear the songs. I receive them as healing. I capture them as little voice notes. I write them down. I take them to my altar. I sing them to the sea.

Sometimes Iโ€™ll receive a couple of songs fully-formed in a day, racing through me like a river after the rain.

Sometimes the songs take a week or more to find their shape. To build from a tiny spring into a bubbling stream.

Sometimes I return to a song months later, when I am gifted some extra tributary. One that guides me in another direction, and brings me – or someone else – the medicine that is needed in that moment.

I have a folder full of songs from the sea, from the moon, from the land, from grief, from joy. Yet, up until relatively recently, I didnโ€™t think of myself as a singer at all. Nor did I think I had a voice anyone else would ever want to hear.

The songs didn’t seem to care. They just kept arriving and calling to be shared. And every time I asked the sea and my guides for insight into what to offer the world in these times – as support, in service to love and the change that we need – the only answer I would receive would beโ€ฆ another song.

I would laugh. And keep asking โ€“ because apparently, that wasnโ€™t an answer I was ready for.

But this calling was persistent!

My voice shaking, shame racing through my body like a hot flush, I sang the songs in community at our beautiful local Heart Song Sangha and Songs for Peace gatherings here in Penwith. Very slowly, it became a little easier.  I felt my voice and confidence grow.

I had voice activation sessions with my talented friends and singers, Lyndz LiquidLight and Grace LightLooper. I sang with the whales and Michaela Harrison as part of her wonderful Whale Whispering cohort.

I sang in ceremonies, shamanic healings, and a magical drum-making workshop with Dorrie Joy. I started to share tentative recordings as part of my Ocean Altar offerings. And I was persuaded by another amazing friend and singer, Gabrielle Green, into a recording studio to record this one as a fundraiser.

But most of all, I sang these songs with the sea, from the sea, to the sea, every single morning.

Finally, I was ready to step into this call, vulnerable but willing.

And so at the start of this year, I found myself back in the recording studio with Gabby, finding the courage to record some of these simple offerings for you.

And now, here I am, as you read this, preparing to share some more songs as a month of sea medicine song magic.

I hope that these singing practices will touch your soul as they have touched mine. I hope they will help you to find your own voice without judgement or “rules”.

As they leave my heart and my open hands, I trust that they will travel on, rippling out the ocean’s magic wherever it is needed.

Come sing with me and the sea.
